Paul Nash talk hosted by Apollo Magazine

International art magazine, Apollo, hosted a panel event at the London Art Fair in January, looking at 'Building and the Landscape in Modern British Painting'. This event was inspired by Piano Nobile's display of Paul Nash's delicate but unsettling painting, River, depicting children's swings in a semi-industrial landscape. The panel, consisting of Simon Martin, Artistic Director of Pallant House Gallery, James Purdon, Fellow of Jesus College, Cambridge and Maggie Gray, Web Editor of Apollo Magazine, discussed how the changing aesthetic of traditional English countryside affected artists in twentieth-century Britain. This panel event kicked off an exciting few months as Piano Nobile prepares for its Autumn exhibition Paul Nash: Watercolours 1910-1946, showing at the gallery from 8th October.
