Bloomsbury Now Symposium

St Peter's College Oxford

On Saturday 12 November, Piano Nobile’s researcher Luke Farey will be contributing a short paper to a symposium about the Bloomsbury Group held at St Peter’s College, Oxford. The title of his talk is The Bloomsbury Reception of Sickert. Other speakers include Professor Frances Spalding (Clare Hall, University of Cambridge), Dr Darren Clark (The Charleston Trust) and James Beechey (independent).

Bloomsbury Now is a special one-day symposium exploring the enduring legacy of the circle of British writers, intellectuals, and artists known as the Bloomsbury Group. In recognition of the extraordinary collection of Duncan Grant works held in St Peter's College, this event will have a particular focus on the life and art of Duncan Grant (1885-1978), painter and designer of textiles, pottery, theatre sets and costumes. A Bloomsbury-themed drinks reception and dinner will take place after the symposium. You are welcome to join for all or part of the programme.
