Stand Talks at Masterpiece 2019

A stand talk focusing on highlights from Piano Nobile's Masterpiece stand, including an important early collage work by Vanessa Bell, a sculptural relief by Eric Gill, and a rare war work by William Nicholson depicting the Cenotaph. All three works date from the 1910s and the talk will address the creative variety in British art of this period.

Following the recent success of the gallery's exhibition Leon Kossoff: A London Life, Piano Nobile will be exhibiting a small number of major works by Kossoff. This stand talk will address the artist's process of repeatedly scraping down and building-up paint.
